Our History

The WVU LGBTQ+ Center was first established in 2016. Over the years the center has steadily increased its initiatives to build and enhance relationships on campus and in the state of West Virginia, serving as a reference for campus and community resources on LGBTQ+ education, engagement, and advocacy. Extensive programming and campus support have improved the university's Campus Pride’s rating from a score of 1.5 to 4.5 on its 5-point scale.
